Zaborówiec: Forests, Lakes and Trails in Przemęt Landscape Park
Accommodation in Zaborówiec
Forests, Lakes and Ponds
Zaborówiec lies in Przemęt Landscape Park and is surrounded by forests. The park includes a system of 24 bodies of water, most of which are connected. Large fish-breeding ponds lie on the southern edge of the village. Forests, lakes and ponds thus shape different aspects of the landscape, which you can take into account when choosing your outings.
The lakes in the surrounding area are also important for planning your visit: they lie within a radius of 1 to 15 km from Zaborówiec. Most have beaches, jetties and equipment rental services. If you would like to include water-based activities in your trip planning, you can compare the distances to the individual lakes with the places you would like to visit.
Exploring the Landscape Park
Przemęt Landscape Park has a dense network of connected trails that can be explored on foot, by bicycle, by kayak or on horseback. For a kayaking trip, the Konwaliowy kayak trail runs through connected lakes. It makes it possible to traverse almost all the lakes in the park in less than two days. This describes a possible crossing, not a fixed itinerary.
Another option is the green cycling route 3: the 17-kilometre circular route runs from Brenno through Zaborówiec, Dominice, Górsko and Miastko, then back to Brenno, passing through the village. You can treat the loop as a separate option for planning your day. If you would rather explore on foot, by kayak or on horseback, the park offers those options too.
When looking for accommodation, consider how important lakes, cycling or other ways of exploring the park are to your trip. Check the location of a specific accommodation in relation to the places that interest you; the lakes are different distances away. When choosing between a hotel, holiday apartment and holiday home, you may also want to consider your preferred level of service, independence, space and flexibility when planning meals.
Local History and Cultural Attractions
Zaborówiec was founded around 1584 on land cleared from the forest. A road connecting Brenno and Włoszakowice was also built through the village around 1584. Today, Zaborówiec lies between these two places. The road connection is part of the village’s history; green cycling route 3 offers a separate way to explore the area by bike.
The village has a brick Marian chapel dating from the late 19th century. During the interwar period, a border guard post was located in Zaborówiec. The former post building is now home to the Retreat and Charity Centre of the Archdiocese of Poznań.
There are several nearby places to visit for more cultural attractions. Górsko is home to a bird sculpture museum, about 5 km on foot or 7 km by car from Zaborówiec. The Church of St John the Baptist in Przemęt, the Church of St Adalbert in Kaszczor and the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Refuge of Sinners in Wieleń are each part of the European Cistercian Route. These attractions complement the park’s natural experiences with a range of cultural places to visit.
