In Kobylnica, trails through the landscape meet visible traces of local history. The Piast Route runs through the village, and the “Filozoficzna” hiking trail starts here. The routes offer different points of reference for planning your trip: a stated distance and destination for “Filozoficzna,” a railway station as the starting point of the yellow-marked hiking trail, and a cycling route that also passes through the station.

Hiking on different routes

The 13.1-kilometre “Filozoficzna” hiking trail starts in Kobylnica and runs via Dziewicza Góra to Czerwonak. Its route through varied scenery on the southwestern edge of Puszcza Zielonka makes it a specific nature-focused option for planning your trip.

The yellow-marked hiking trail offers a different point of reference: it starts at Kobylnica railway station. This differs from the description of the “Filozoficzna” trail, which runs via Dziewicza Góra to Czerwonak. So when comparing hiking routes, you can use the features given for each one: the railway station as the starting point for this trail, and the distance and destination for the other.

Railway station, train and cycling route

The railway station is also a point of reference for cycling route R1: the 15.5-kilometre route passes through Kobylnica railway station.

To reach Kobylnica for the “Filozoficzna” hike, you can take the train on the Poznań–Gniezno route or Swarzędz municipal bus 412 from Rondo Śródka in Poznań. This gives you two named options for getting to the hike: train and bus. The Piast Route, meanwhile, runs through Kobylnica, adding a connection with historical themes to the area’s trails.

Church, memorial sites and the Piast Route

The Church of the Holy Cross stands in the south of Kobylnica and was built after 1981. The village is also home to the former colony building of the “Stella” society, dating from 1901. These two details point to different chapters in the village’s history: the church is a more recent building, while the surviving structure and its date refer to Kobylnica’s earlier history.

A plaque at the railway station commemorates the prisoners of a Nazi labour camp for Jews. Alongside the routes, a place of remembrance is therefore another specific feature you can explore in Kobylnica. A group of wooden sculptures with historical themes also stands along the road in connection with the Piast Route. The route, sculptures and plaque each offer a different perspective: the Piast Route is present both in the village and through its connection with the sculptures; at the station, the hiking and cycling routes are joined by the plaque.
