Culture and History

The manor house in Sobota was built in 1809 for its then owner, Ignacy Łaszkowski. It is surrounded by a small, well-maintained park covering 1.5 ha, which was laid out at the beginning of the 19th century. In 1912, the manor house was extensively rebuilt.

The church in Sobota is a late Gothic building erected in 1510 through the foundation of Jan Sobocki. It contains Renaissance tombs of the Sobocki family made of red marble from the 16th century. The bell tower next to the church is a separate Baroque structure from the second half of the 18th century. The church also contains an image of the Virgin Mary with the Child Jesus from the first half of the 17th century, which is considered miraculous.

Faith and Cycle Routes

The Marian Sanctuary in Sobota is visited by pilgrims who ask Matka Boża Sobocka for the graces and help they need. It can be reached by bicycle via the Szlak Stu Jezior; the section from Kiekrz via Pawłowice reaches Sobota after approximately 6.8 km.

The northern section of the Transwielkopolska Trasa Rowerowa crosses the road connecting Rokietnica and Sobota at kilometre 15.7. At kilometre 16.3, the section follows a sandy path through a forest; Gajówka Sobota remains on the left. At kilometre 17.3, the Transwielkopolska Trasa Rowerowa crosses the Samica Kierska on a bridge.

The buildings of Sobota are situated on the gently sloping eastern side of the Samica Kierska valley.
