Polanowo: Archaeology, Nature and Cycling Routes

Polanowo can be explored from two very different perspectives: the remains of a prehistoric settlement located underwater and several named cycling and hiking routes in the area around Lake Powidzkie. The underwater remains of a prehistoric settlement have been located in Polanowo. The archaeological site consists of a dense cluster of pine and birch posts. Another option is the 35-kilometre “Dookoła Jeziora Powidzkiego” cycling route. It runs from Powidz via Przybrodzin, Ostrowo, Anastazewo, Kania, Skrzynka, Naprusewo, Kosewo, Giewartów and Kochowo to Polanowo, then back to Powidz. A 35.8-kilometre blue cycling trail is also marked around Lake Powidzkie. It passes, among other places, through Powidz, Przybrodzin, Ostrowo, Anastazewo, Salamonowo, Kania, Skrzynka Wielka, Naprusewo, Tomiszewo, Kosewo, Giewartów, Kochowo, Polanowo and Rzymachowo.

The route details distinguish these routes by length, start and end points, and the stops listed for each. On the route from Słupca, Polanowo is part of a loop that includes places such as Babin and Piotrowice; the 35-kilometre option runs from Powidz via Przybrodzin and Kochowo to Polanowo. The blue cycling trail is described as a route around the lake and includes additional stops.
