History

The hillfort of Niewierz dates from around the turn of the 11th and 12th centuries and was part of the outer defensive system of Poznań Castle. As an early medieval hillfort, it has a ring rampart, is surrounded by a moat, and lies on the road from Niewierz to Duszniki. Excavations at the hillfort uncovered pottery fragments from the Early Middle Ages.

The single-storey, brick manor house in Niewierz dates from the third quarter of the 19th century, that is, from the second half of the 19th century. On the garden side, it has a projecting section in the form of a half-octagonal tower. The manor house is considered to be severely damaged.

In front of the entrance to the former manor house in Niewierz stands an avenue of 11 maple trees. The former manor house park once covered about 2 hectares; its remnants contain monumental trees.

In the surrounding area, in the municipality of Duszniki, the “Duszniczki” forest reserve protects several Polish larches that are more than a hundred years old.
