Sławica among forests and lakes

Sławica lies among forests and lakes on the edge of the “Puszcza Zielonka” Landscape Park. Marked cycling and hiking trails pass through the village and connect the landscape with specific routes. Forest and lake scenery

Nearby Sławica is Lake Gackie, in the buffer zone of the landscape park. The lake is used extensively for recreation. Recreational plots belonging to the village of Sławica lie along the eastern shore; if you are planning a visit to the shore, check access locally. Lake Gackie, which covers 29 hectares, can be seen from a path behind the “Zacisze” allotment gardens in Sławica.

Cycling and hiking

The 51.8-kilometer Duży Pierścień Rowerowy (Large Cycling Ring) passes through Sławica. A 37.4-kilometer blue hiking trail also passes through the village; its endpoints are Dziewicza Góra and Sława Wlkp. At 51.8 kilometers, the cycling route is 14.4 kilometers longer than the 37.4-kilometer hiking trail.

The cycling network of Puszcza Zielonka and its surroundings is connected to the Poznań–Wągrowiec railway line, car parks, the Pierścień Rowerowy wokół Poznania (Cycling Ring around Poznań), and the EuroVelo 2 and 9 long-distance cycling routes. The Duży Pierścień Rowerowy, which passes through Sławica, is part of this network. These connections make it easier for visiting cyclists to reach and leave the routes in Puszcza Zielonka.

Hiking trails through Sławica’s recreational areas offer additional landmarks. One trail passes holiday homes and the “Zacisze” allotment gardens before reaching the built-up part of the village. A hiking trail passes Lake Borowe. The routes mentioned therefore differ, among other things, in whether they pass along a body of water, recreational plots, or the built-up part of the village.

At Lake Borowe: fishing and history

Lake Borowe belongs to the Polish Angling Association (PZW); fishing is possible after obtaining the required permit. Before fishing, check where the permit is currently available. In September 2019, juniors competed there for the trophy of Alojzy Pacholski, honorary chairman of the fishing club. The following day, 21 adult anglers, including one woman, took part. Their competition was for the trophy of Zbigniew Kujawa, chairman of the Skoki municipal council.

Recreation in the village

Municipal recreational facilities in Sławica include a football pitch and a playground. Check local conditions before making firm plans to use either facility. In 2026, the municipality announced a project to expand the playground.
