In Biały Dunajec, you can plan your trip around specific routes: walks through the village, hikes across the surrounding ridges, and bike rides of varying lengths. Details about the routes and their duration can help you compare options as you plan. Some paths start in the village and continue to named neighbouring villages or viewpoints; others follow roads and the valley of the Biały Dunajec stream.

Hiking: Gubałówka, Kuny, or a walk through the village

Two of the hikes lead from Biały Dunajec to Gubałówka, but follow different described routes. The two-hour route passes through Tatary and Ząb and along the Pogórze Gubałowskie ridge. Views of the Tatra Mountains and surrounding area are noted for this route. The three-hour option also leads to Gubałówka, passing through Leszczyny, Sierockie, Rolów Wierch, and Ząb. When comparing the two hikes, both their duration and the listed intermediate places are useful: having the same destination does not mean the routes are identical.

Another hike is listed as taking three and a half hours. It leads from Biały Dunajec via Stołowe, Gliczarów Górny, Gliczarów Dolny, and Wojtusiców Wierch to Kuny. You can distinguish this hike from the two Gubałówka routes by its own route and its longer stated duration. If you would like to explore a walk within the village, there is also the two-hour “Walk around Biały Dunajec.” It starts in Sołtystwo, the oldest part of the village, passes through the valley of the Biały Dunajec stream, and then follows Jana Pawła II, Kościuszki, Miłośników Podhala, and Piłsudskiego streets towards Poronin.

Cycling: a loop or longer routes

An approximately 15-kilometre cycling route is described as a loop: from Biały Dunajec, it goes via Gliczarów Dolny and Gliczarów Górny and returns to the starting point. Its approximate distance and return to Biały Dunajec give this ride a different profile from the two other listed routes, which start at the municipal office and continue beyond the village.

Both of these routes are classified as difficult and each includes 300 metres of elevation gain. The 12-kilometre route has a stated riding time of three hours and leads from the municipal office towards Gliczarów Górny. The 20-kilometre route also starts there but leads to Bukowina Tatrzańska; its stated riding time is two and a half hours. Compared with the shorter route, it covers a greater distance in a shorter stated time, with the same stated elevation gain. The route and its destination are therefore just as important to consider as the time estimate.
