Spa architecture and building history

Zdrój Wojciech was built in 1680 and redesigned in the Neo-Baroque style in 1880, which is the look the building has today. The Wojciech spa treatment building is one of the oldest surviving spa buildings in Silesia and among the most magnificent and beautiful buildings of its kind. These two dates give the building a clear historical context: its construction was followed, just over two centuries later, by the redesign that gave it its present appearance.

Another architectural highlight is the early Baroque Chapel of St. Mary on Pustkowie in Lądek-Zdrój. Its architectural composition is considered exceptionally original, and its artistic value outstanding. Together with the Neo-Baroque Wojciech, it shows that the town’s architectural history is not limited to a single style. Drinking hall and spa park

Zdrój Wojciech houses a publicly accessible drinking hall with the “Zdzisław” and “Maria Skłodowska-Curie” springs. The water served there is slightly mineralised, fluoridic, sulphidic, radon-bearing and thermal. The names of the springs and the stated properties of the water give this place a distinct focus within the spa building. The layout of Parku Zdrojowy also offers a clear example of how the town is designed: its present form follows a main axis laid out in the 1930s, connecting Zdrój Wojciech with the indoor swimming pool. A walk and finding your way around Trojak
