Pakosław combines Neoclassical architecture and honey culture with themed routes through the town and municipality. Taste honey and make it yourself

During events at the Żywe Muzeum Miodu (Living Honey Museum) in Pakosław, participants can taste honey, bee pollen and bee bread. Information about allergens is also provided at the tastings. This offer is available during events.

Summer honey-making workshops are also held at the Żywe Muzeum Miodu, at the premises of Pasieka Smakulskich, ul. 40-lecia 9. Participants learn about the history and production process and make honey themselves. A jar of honey is also included; under sanitary regulations, it is not considered a food product. The workshops therefore combine insight into the production process with a practical activity, while the tastings focus on different bee products.

Palace, church and memorial sites

The Neoclassical palace in Pakosław was probably built between 1792 and 1794; the design is believed to be the work of Karol Gothard Langhans. It is set in an extensive park. The Column Hall contains four bas-reliefs faithfully based on engravings by Franciszek Śmuglewicz from 1789 to 1791. The dates of the engravings and their adaptation as reliefs provide a specific art-historical detail in the hall.

The Church of St Valentine offers a different architectural accent. It was built in the Neo-Gothic style between 1896 and 1899. The church houses a historic sculpture of St Valentine from the former church. Next to the church, opposite the main gate, a monument commemorates the victims of the First World War, the Greater Poland Uprising and the Second World War. Pakosław thus brings together building history, an object from the former church and memorials to several conflicts.

Cycling routes around Pakosław

The Rowerowy Szlak Miodowy (Honey Cycling Trail) starts in Pakosław at a car park near the municipal tourist map and heads towards Ostrobudek. After the start, it follows Rolnicza Street and the Pakosław–Góreczki Wielkie county road. The loop through the municipality of Pakosław is listed as 15 kilometres long. The Wielkopolski Szlak Wiatraczny (Greater Poland Windmill Trail) also passes through Pakosław. From there, the route continues via Sowy, Szkaradowo, Dubin and Jutrosin towards Smolice and Kobylin. The Szlak Rajdu Konnego (Horseback Rally Trail), in turn, runs through seven municipalities, including Pakosław. The routes therefore differ in their stated scope: a 15-kilometre loop within the municipality, a sequence of named places and a route spanning several municipalities.
