Palace History and Mineral Water
Pałac Jedlinka is a Neoclassical building. Its present form dates from the 19th century, while its history goes back to the Middle Ages. These two dates shed light on different aspects: the architectural style belongs to the 19th century, while the palace’s history began much earlier. Neoclassical describes a style inspired by classical models and helps place the building’s architecture in context. The palace is therefore a cultural focal point, distinct from the town’s spa-related and active pursuits.
The spa theme is also reflected in the mineral water drinking hall on Plac Zdrojowy. Three mineral waters are available there: Mieszko, Dąbrówka and Charlotta. If you want to try one in particular, check its current availability before your trip. The drinking hall complements the architectural history with a tangible connection to mineral water, already apparent in the names of the three varieties.
Trail Stops and Leisure Activities
The spa and recreation trail is 6.5 kilometres long, runs around almost all of Jedlina and includes twelve so-called “stops.” The route is therefore more than five kilometres long; its twelve stops divide it into several sections. For planning purposes, the length and route give you an idea of the trail’s extent, but do not indicate how long it takes to walk.
The trail passes a concert shell and an amphitheatre as it goes through Park Północy. Wooden benches are located on the slope of a park hill. These two named structures give this section of the park its own character: the concert shell and amphitheatre stand in clear contrast to a stop defined primarily by water or sports facilities. The location of the benches on the slope is also a specific detail of the amphitheatre.
Another section, the Trasa Promenada Słoneczna, runs alongside the reservoir and a sports complex with pétanque courts. Players and supporters of KSP Jedlina play French pétanque on the courts. In contrast to Park Północy, the route description here focuses on the reservoir and sports complex, while the concert shell and amphitheatre are the named stops there.
Another leisure activity is the rope park at the Czarodziejska Góra Relaks sports and tourism complex. It has five courses and adds an active option to the cultural and spa-related attractions. If you want to plan a visit to the rope park for a particular day of your trip, check in advance whether it will be open.
