Nature and Activities at ZOOM NATURY

The ZOOM NATURY Recreation Park covers more than 10 hectares. Its attractions include a variety of activities, including the Park Linowy high ropes course. Its green route runs at a height of 3 to 8 metres and has 14 obstacles. The blue route has 16 obstacles. The red route is described as the most difficult; it runs at a height of 8 to 12 metres and has 17 obstacles. Those interested in the high ropes course can compare the routes by their height and number of obstacles.

Younger visitors also have their own activities at Park Kreatywny: inflatable attractions, trampolines, a sandpit and foam elements are intended for children aged 2 to 13. The programme is complemented by an Exit Room with the rooms “Crazy ’80s” and “The Enchanted Cellar”. Laser Tag is played with infrared beams; Archer Tag is a team game played with bows and arrows with foam tips. In the “Exotic Animals” workshop, entertainers introduce live animals. ZOOM NATURY therefore offers a variety of formats: physical activity and obstacles, activities for children, and team and workshop activities.

Urban History, Crafts and Museums

The Old Town Market Square was laid out according to a Renaissance plan inspired by the idea of the ideal city and based on Zamość’s urban layout. Four fountains in the square symbolise, among other things, Janów’s traditional crafts. The combination of urban planning and craftsmanship gives the historic town centre its own thematic connection to local history.

The Regional Museum in Janów Lubelski features indoor and open-air exhibitions on the historical and cultural heritage of the Janów area, the Lublin region and Poland. Its offerings include archaeological and ethnographic workshops, outdoor games and workshops with craftspeople. History enthusiasts will therefore find practical and interactive activities here alongside the exhibitions. The Photography Museum in Janów Lubelski offers a different perspective: it was registered in 2014 and comprises three exhibition rooms, a darkroom and a museum gallery.

Marian Shrine and Religious Art

The Marian Shrine includes the Chapel of the Apparition, which is frequently visited by pilgrims and tourists. It houses a 17th-century statue of the Virgin Mary with the Child; a spring rises beneath the statue. The church and Dominican monastery at the shrine date from 1694 to 1720 and were founded by the Zamoyski family.

The Dominican Church of St John the Baptist at the Marian Shrine retains its Baroque character. Notable features include Rococo altars and a Rococo pulpit, a 19-stop organ and an 1870 baptismal font. The chapel, the building’s history and its furnishings offer different points of interest for visitors interested in religious history or sacred art.

Spring Area and Forest Narrow-Gauge Railway

The natural spring area of Janowskie Stoki is a natural monument in the centre of Janów Lubelski and a place associated with local customs. On the outskirts of town, next to the forestry office, there is an open-air museum of the forest narrow-gauge railway. In the wider region, the forest narrow-gauge railway connected Lipa with Biłgoraj until 1952, running through the entire Janów Forests complex. The remaining section in the Janów Forests was used until 1984, when railway operations there ceased.
