Basilica: architectural history and works of art
The Minor Basilica of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in the early 17th century in the Renaissance style. The basilica houses a Gothic Madonna and Child shrine from the early 15th century. The artwork therefore belongs to an earlier period than the church building. The organ also reflects different periods of construction: its Rococo case dates from 1762, while its mechanism dates from 1907.
