Church history and manor house

The former Protestant church was built in 1935–1936 and consecrated on 6 January 1947. After its consecration, it served as a branch church of the Kozin parish. The dates establish a clear sequence for the construction, consecration and church use: first the construction period, then the consecration in January 1947, followed by its use as a branch church.

A manor house at 31 Bytowska Street is listed in the heritage registers. The building is made of brick and designed in the eclectic style. The term describes a design that incorporates elements from different styles. Hiking trails in the village and municipality

When considering the hiking trails, it is worth distinguishing between their endpoints and routes. The 67 km PTTK “Dolina Łupawy” trail ends in Czarna Dąbrówka. By contrast, the PTTK “Krajobrazów młodoglacjalnych” trail passes through the village. This means that Czarna Dąbrówka is the endpoint of one route and a place passed through on the other. If you plan to walk either of these trails, check the local trail markings before setting out.

A walking and cycling path runs by the grounds of the health centre in Czarna Dąbrówka. Work on the area around the path was completed in 2023. Another option for spending time in nature is in Rokity, also in the municipality of Czarna Dąbrówka, but outside the village of the same name. The “Przyjaciel lasu” nature and recreation trail is located there, in the forests of the Cewice Forest District. The trail includes two forest lakes and three routes: 1,000 metres, 1,200 metres and about 1,700 metres. The longest route is therefore about 700 metres longer than the shortest, while the middle one is 200 metres longer than the shortest. This makes it possible to compare the options based on the stated route lengths.

The trail also has specific themes: information boards cover nesting boxes, aquatic ecosystems and the role of water in the forest. They also explore the forest’s life cycle and layers, small mammals, forest fruits, protected plants, waste decomposition and the daily lives of birds. Educational games complement the boards and teach visitors to identify trees, birds and mushrooms. Nature and forest themes thus form a distinct focus within the municipality, separate from the historic buildings in the village.

Kayaking options and a historic race

Outside the village, but within the municipality, kayaking trips on the Łupawa usually start at the kayak landing in Łupawsko on the lake’s left bank, at Jezioro Jasień. A description from 2022 mentions a floating pier and a slipway for launching kayaks there. Check current local conditions before your trip. A specific, clear recommendation applies to the stretch of the Łupawa between Kozin and Damno Młyn: it is recommended exclusively for experienced kayakers. Kozin is near Czarna Dąbrówka; before paddling, you should also check current water conditions.

The XXXI Ogólnopolski Bieg Orłów is also part of the village’s history: in 2022, the race was described as an annual event for children and adults.
