In the vicinity of Rytel, the yellow-marked Kasztelański Trail begins in the forest area of the Borů Tucholskie; it is 68 kilometres long. Compared with the 16-kilometre trail by the canal, this is a considerably longer route. The two trails also differ in their course: the Kasztelański Trail starts in the nearby forest, while the shorter trail runs along the canal through Rytel. The “Through the Green Heart of Pomerania” cycling route also starts in Rytel and then continues through the Tuchola Forest.
Church and local history
The parish of Rytel was established in 1899. In Rytel, you can visit the Neo-Baroque church of NMP Królowej Różańca Św. The parish church and its grounds are located at ul. Księdza A. “Kaprys” café is on the main street, opposite the church, and has been making its own ice cream for years. Check whether the café is currently open before visiting. Together with the promenade and bathing area, it is another specific place to visit alongside the routes and the church.
