The stream and nearby lake
The Kamieniec is an integral part of Widzino’s setting: the village lies by this stream. A small lake is located nearby; it is leased to the Koło PZW „Plasmet” Widzino fishing club and is associated with numerous fishing competitions. Historical traces from different periods
The village’s history offers several points of reference across different periods and locations. Widzino is considered one of the oldest villages in the Słupsk region. Since the earliest times, farmsteads stood on both sides of the stream that flows through the village. In 1281, Duke Mszczuj granted the village of Vidino as an endowment to the Norbertine convent in Słupsk.
At the Widzino 8 archaeological site, remains were documented from a settlement of the Pomeranian culture, a craft-oriented settlement of the Wielbark culture, and the early Middle Ages. For travellers interested in history, there are several points of reference: a dated event, settlement remains from different cultural and historical contexts, and the arrangement of farmsteads on both sides of the stream.

A 40-kilometre cycle route runs through Zagórki, Łosino, Lubuń, Żelkówko, Kruszyna, Lulemino, Zagórki, Zbyszewo, Korzybie, Ścięgnica, Wrząca, Giełdoń, Kuleszewo, Kończewo, Sierakowo and Widzino, before reaching Kobylnica. In the order listed, Kobylnica comes after Widzino, which is therefore included along the way. The 40-kilometre total gives you a guide to the overall length of the route for planning your day; if you choose a particular section, plan your journey separately. Before setting off, it is advisable to check the latest signs and route conditions.
Rail stop and travel planning
Widzino railway stop is located in the village, on the Słupsk–Szczecinek railway line. If you are considering travelling by train, check the timetable in advance.
