Zbychowo: Natural Monuments and Kashubian Culture
Accommodation in Zbychowo
Zbychowo can be explored through three named routes, distinctive natural features and Kashubian culture. Two hiking trails and a cycling route listed in the municipal plan offer concrete guidance for different travel interests; there are also natural monuments and archaeological sites. As a cultural landmark, the Kaszubskie Zielone Świątki are among the annual events held by the Wejherowo municipality. This gives you several clearly distinct themes to consider before planning your trip, without reducing Zbychowo to a single activity.

Hiking and Cycling Routes
A municipal plan covering 2013 to 2020 lists the black Zagórska-Struga hiking trail and the red Wejherowo hiking trail as passing through Zbychowo. It also names the blue Dookoła Pięciu Jezior cycling route, which runs through the village. This means there are two named hiking trails and one cycling route: a clear distinction based on the intended way of getting around. The color names and route types help with orientation; check the current trail markings and conditions before setting out.
In the village center, beside a pond, the black Zagórska-Struga hiking trail makes a sharp turn before continuing northeast along the bottom of the depression known as Rów Redzki. The depression extends from Zbychowo in the direction of Reda. The route description thus identifies both a specific landmark in the center and a landform that extends from Zbychowo toward Reda.
Landscape and Local History
The Zbychowo sołectwo lies within Trójmiejski Landscape Park and has many scenic and natural assets. In a field in Zbychowo stands a boulder listed as a natural monument, with a circumference of 13 meters. The area also has numerous natural monuments and archaeological sites, often associated with legends and historical facts. Together, these themes offer both a scenic and a historical perspective on Zbychowo.
Kashubian Culture and Neustadt
The Kaszubskie Zielone Świątki in Zbychowo are among the well-known annual cultural events held by the Wejherowo municipality. If you want to plan your trip around a cultural event, check the specific dates in advance. This lets you take the festival’s recurring nature into account without assuming a particular date.
In Wejherowo, part of the broader travel destination of Neustadt, you can explore further themes relating to history and Kashubian culture. Kalwaria Wejherowska was the fourth Calvary complex to be established during the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Construction of its chapels began after Bishop Mikołaj Albert Gniewosz of Aleksandrów granted permission on June 9, 1649. The Muzeum Piśmiennictwa i Muzyki Kaszubsko-Pomorskiej was founded in 1968 and is a treasure trove of regional artifacts as well as a center of Kashubian culture, particularly the Kashubian language. The Książnica prof. Gerarda Labudy has a permanent exhibition on the history of the Kashubians. The Szlak Nut Kaszubskich also passes by Wejherowo’s main attractions: fifteen pedestals displaying fragments of a traditional counting-out rhyme form a route at various locations around the city; individual installations may change.
