Kaplityny can be explored along several cycling and hiking trails. The routes vary in length and course: two cycling routes form loops through several places, while two hiking trails include Kaplityny in their routes. Cycling routes through Warmia
The red cycling route is 23.4 km long and runs via Barczewo, Rejczuchy, Sapuny, Bogdany, Kaplityny, Łęgajny, Biedowo and Dąbrówka Mała, returning to Barczewo. This makes Kaplityny part of a route that includes several stops. More than half of the route is on asphalt. Basic off-road cycling skills are required for the remaining sections—a specific point to consider when choosing this cycling tour.
The red cycling route passes through the hilly landscape of Warmia, characterised here by lakes, streams, canals and wetlands. The landscape and varied surfaces offer two clear points to keep in mind: the route passes through diverse natural surroundings, and not all of it is on asphalt. If you choose the red route, you can take both the distance and the surface information into account when planning your tour.
Another option is the 27 km green cycling route. It runs from Barczewo via Mokiny, Bogdany, Kaplityny, Łęgajny and Barczewko, returning to Barczewo. Here, too, Kaplityny is part of a longer route through several places. Its sequence differs from that of the red route: Mokiny and Barczewko are on the green route, while the red route passes, among other places, through Rejczuchy, Sapuny, Biedowo and Dąbrówka Mała. These place names can help you distinguish the routes by their courses.
Hiking trails of different lengths
The blue hiking trail is 5.7 km long and runs from Wójtowo Osiedle Leśne via Kaplityny and back to Wójtowo Osiedle Leśne. The trail crosses the Kanał Elżbiety. It then leads in Kaplityny to a signal-controlled road crossing. Its length, course and crossing are useful points of reference when including this hiking trail in your travel plans.
The black hiking trail is longer, at 10.0 km. It runs from Wójtowo via Kaplityny, Sapunki and Bogdany, returning to Wójtowo. For a short distance, it meets the blue hiking trail; together, the two trails cross a bridge over the Kanał Elżbiety. The route connects Kaplityny with the other named places and therefore follows a different course from the blue trail. The distances of 5.7 km and 10.0 km can help you choose between the two hiking routes based on your preferred length.
A village with an angel theme
Kaplityny is a themed village. Its features include a village angel square and an angel-themed playground.
