Water Activities at Port Lubianka

Industrial History and Vehicles

The Muzeum Przyrody i Techniki im. Jana Pazdura is home to the Zespół Wielkopiecowy, dating from the late 19th century. It has been preserved as a complete technological production line of ironworks facilities. This makes the complex interesting as an integrated industrial site: the focus is not just on individual machines, but on a complete ironmaking production line from a particular historical period. It offers a tangible way to explore the industrial history of Starachowice.

The collection includes trucks produced by Fabryka Samochodów Ciężarowych STAR. The vehicles mentioned include the Popemobile and the STAR 266R, which took part in the Paris–Dakar Rally in 1988. The rally connection gives the STAR 266R its own historical context and adds a dated event to the story of the truck collection. Walking Trail and Viewpoint

The blue walking trail “Śladami górników” starts at the car park on ul. Marszałka Piłsudskiego, next to the entrance to the Muzeum Przyrody i Techniki. It initially follows the same street before continuing onto ul. Krywki. There is also a viewing platform along the way. From there, you can see the main ridge of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains, including Łysica (612 m above sea level) and Święty Krzyż. The starting point and first stretch along the street offer clear directions for setting out on the walk, while the platform adds a designated viewpoint to the route. This gives the trail a different focus from water sports at Port Lubianka: here, the walk and views of the mountains take centre stage.

The Narrow-Gauge Railway: A Look Back

Another topic to consider when planning your trip is the Starachowicka Kolej Wąskotorowa. On 8 May 2004, it resumed tourist services on the Starachowice Wschodnie Wąskotorowe–Lipie route.
