Drawsko combines several ways to explore the surrounding area actively with distinctive buildings. The routes vary in length, course and intended mode of travel: from a cycle route that passes through the town to a loop in the Noteć Valley and a route between three places. There is also the lock and a restored palace. This lets you choose what to focus on during your stay—cycling, walking or cultural heritage.

Cycling routes with different courses

The red “Po obu stronach Noteci” cycle route passes through Drawsko and is 57 kilometres long. Two other cycling loops start and end in Drawsko but pass through different places: the 24-kilometre loop goes via Pęckowo, Marylin and Piłka before returning to its starting point. The 34-kilometre loop goes via Chełst, Kamiennik, Kwiejce, Piłka and Pęckowo. The named places and route lengths make it easy to see how the two loops differ.

A shorter designated cycling route is the black cycle route. It passes through Drawsko (Abisynia), goes via the Kaczeniec forest district to Borzysko Młyn, and is nine kilometres long.

Walking through the Noteć Valley

The 14-kilometre walking trail starts at the “Yndzel” landing stage in Drawsko and follows the former “Rajczywiec” educational nature trail. The route takes in the landscape of the Noteć Valley and a group of native oaks, then leads back to the landing stage.

The “Trójwieś” trail has a different focus: it connects Drawsko, Drawski Młyn and Pęckowo and is suitable for pedestrians, cyclists and Nordic walkers. If you choose based on whether you prefer a loop returning to its starting point or a route between several places, these two routes offer different points of reference.

The lock and palace as landmarks of local history

The Drawsko water-step complex comprises Lock No. 21, built in 1898, as well as a single-chamber lock and a chamber-style fish pass. The Drawsko lock is an important feature of the Noteć Valley’s cultural landscape. This makes it a distinct historical subject alongside the cycling and walking routes: when learning about Drawsko, you can also explore its water-engineering history.

Another historical highlight is the restored palace in a manor park dating from the first half of the 18th century. Together with the water-step complex, the palace shows that Drawsko offers architectural landmarks as well as routes.

When planning your trip, you can therefore start by asking what you want to focus on: would you like to choose cycling routes based on their length and course, walk through the Noteć Valley landscape, or include historic buildings in your exploration of Drawsko? The routes and buildings described here offer concrete points of reference, without requiring you to settle on just one way of exploring the area.
