Czarnikau: Lakes, Cycling Routes and Culture

If you’re looking for hotels in Czarnikau, you can plan your trip around your interests: water and fishing, cycling, or cultural history each offer a different focus. Options range from a walking path around a lake to a 59.5-kilometer stretch of a cycling route.

Water, cycling routes and active excursions

In Trzcianka, the Park Ryb Słodkowodnych is located on Jezioro Sarcze, on provincial road 178 between Poznań and Kołobrzeg. Along the walking and cycling paths, the park displays ten giant fish models. Information boards offer insights into fish reproduction, fishing gear and the nutritional value of fish. There are also three models of forest animals and six mushroom models.

Jezioro Długie, also known as Logo, covers 61.3 hectares and is up to 4.7 meters deep. A walking path runs around the lake, and fishing is also possible. A 59.5-kilometer stretch of the Transwielkopolska Trasa Rowerowa Poznań–Okonek runs through Powiat czarnkowsko-trzcianecki. The route is mostly paved and well suited to trekking bikes. Alongside the walking and cycling paths in the park, it offers a longer cycling option with a clearly specified distance.

There are currently six free outdoor quest games in the powiat, for exploring with children and adults. Individual routes may change, so check the route you want to take before setting out. Another way to get active is “Spacer po zdrowie,” a recreational event held in May by Nordic Walking Lubasz. Its five-kilometer route goes around Jezioro Duże. Architecture and traces of history

The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Lubasz is a late Baroque Marian shrine. Its single-nave design, two towers set diagonally on the façade and consistent Rococo furnishings define the building. In Dębe stands a post mill from the mid-19th century, considered a valuable example of rural technical architecture. In Gębiczyn, in the Puszcza Notecka area, is the best-preserved remnant of the 18th-century Olęder building tradition. These two sites point to different aspects of cultural history: rural technology and a regional building tradition.

The “Od mariny do mariny śladami olędrów” route can be traveled by bicycle or car and follows traces of Olęder colonization in Powiat czarnkowsko-trzcianecki. This lets you combine a cycling trip or drive with a historical theme, without limiting the route to a single mode of transport.
