Przesieki: Marsh, Forest Lake and Historic Traces

Przesieki brings together a river landscape, marsh and historic traces. The village lies on the Przysieka and near the Drawa; the Płociczna also flows into it near Przesieki. River Landscape, Marsh and Forest Lake

The Torfowisko w Przesiekach peat bog is one of the area’s valuable natural features. There is also an elongated forest lake near the village, covering about 15 ha, with a shoreline of 2,500 m. The marsh and lake represent different types of landscape; the lake’s shape and dimensions provide specific details about its form.

On the side of the nearby lake facing the village, there is a large meadow with a beach volleyball court and a wooden shelter. Alongside the landscape, the court offers a specific opportunity for recreation. As facilities may change, check their condition before your visit.

A description from 2021 mentions a parking area for several dozen cars about two kilometres beyond Przesieki, as well as a kayak rental, a bridge and access to the Drawa. This approximate location helps you include the area beyond the village in your plans. Check the condition of the facilities before you travel.

Another natural feature is the “Jeleń” pine tree on the road between Przesieki and Kuźnica Żelichowska. If you plan to visit this tree, check its condition beforehand.

Archaeological and Historic Traces

Przesieki is home to the archaeological settlement site “punkt osadniczy, st. 3.” The former road from Berlin to Danzig is also part of the village’s historical context. Bunkers in the area around Przesieki and Osieczno are remnants of the Pomeranian Wall fortifications. How clearly the individual sites can be seen varies by location. This adds a military-historical perspective to the history of settlement and transport.

Nearby Zacisze also has historical connections. In 2005, the Krzyż municipality and the Krzyż Forest District established a historical and nature trail. Information boards were installed in 2004 beside the former manor house of the Paasche family.

The settlement site is right in Przesieki; the forest lake and Zacisze are in the surrounding area, while the described area by the Drawa is about two kilometres beyond the village. You can therefore decide whether staying close to the village itself or focusing on the surrounding landscape and historical sites better suits your trip.
