Culture and History

On January 11, 2002, the “Great Patron’s Day” ceremony was held in Stawki. The program included an artistic performance, the handover of a flag, the opening of a new school wing with a sports hall, and an exhibition of photos, books and documents about Maria Danilewicz Zielińska.

The Stawki 2 archaeological site contains a Paleolithic–Mesolithic camp. There are also settlement traces of the Corded Ware culture. The Stawki 5 archaeological site contains traces of a settlement of the Funnel Beaker culture.

Historically, Stawki belonged to the grange estates of Ośno.

Local Life

The KGW Kujawianka in Stawki organized workshops in Kuyavian embroidery and floral design and made traditional Kuyavian clothing as well as embroidered aprons. Annual local activities include a community Women’s Day celebration, a festival welcoming autumn and decorating a Christmas tree together with recycled decorations.

The KGW Kujawianka from Stawki also takes part in regional markets, where it presents its activities.

Stawki has a playground and skate park on ul. Sportowa. The recreation and leisure area in Stawki is located on ul. Sportowa, on plot 240/2.

The construction of a recreation and leisure area in Stawki included plans for a playground with an in-ground trampoline, paths made of logs, a hill with a tunnel and slide, a climbing pyramid, a nest swing and other play equipment. A skate park with a pump track, quarter pipe, funbox, bank and Ollie box was also planned.

Stawki has a sports stadium with an amphitheater. The Gminny Klub Sportowy “Start” is located at ul. Szkolna 1A in Stawki. In 2026, GKS WIP “START” Stawki received financial support of PLN 90,000.00 for tasks related to sports development.
