Culture and history
The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is considered Lipno’s oldest historic building and possesses confirmed historical, scientific, and artistic value. A fortified settlement dating from the 14th century is located on Wzgórze św. Antoniego.
The “im. Gabriela Narutowicza” City Park is a protected historic park monument from the 19th or early 20th century. The former Orthodox church, which later served as a community center, now houses the “Nawojka” cinema.
Lipno is home to the Mieszczańska Izba Muzealna. The Miejskie Centrum Kulturalne is housed in a building constructed in the 1920s that formerly served as the seat of the county council. Since 2005, the Izba Pamięci Poli Negri has also displayed memorabilia, documents, letters, and photographs of the actress.
Visitors can stroll along the Aleja Gwiazd on the Bulwar Poli Negri.
Trails and landscape
The marked blue hiking trail from the town hall in Lipno to the monastery in Skępe is 32 kilometers long and runs along the shore of Jezioro Wielkie. The Franciscan Trail connects monasteries, monuments, and churches, including those in Skępe, Obory, and Trutowo.
The Wooden Churches Trail leads from Brzeźno via Ostrowite and Wielgie to Czarne and includes preserved wooden churches from the 18th century. Cycling is mentioned as a visitor activity in the area of Powiat Lipnowski.
Powiat Lipnowski has a rolling, glacially shaped landscape with lakes, streams, and rivers.
Geographical location
The historic Dobrzyń Land, to which Powiat Lipnowski belongs, lies between the Vistula, Drwęca, and Skrwa rivers.
Festivals and events
The “Pola i inni” film festival has been held in Lipno since 2007. During the festival, the “Nawojka” cinema shows films featuring Pola Negri, including silent films accompanied by live piano music.
The Summer Fest offers international cuisine, street food, and festival classics. Additional activities, entertainment, and adrenaline-filled attractions are available throughout the day.
