Tuchola’s Old Town preserves a medieval street plan that has remained almost unchanged since the town was founded under German law in 1346. The date of its founding is therefore not just a milestone in the town’s history, but is also reflected in the Old Town’s layout, which has been preserved to this day. Other points of reference offer different ways to explore Tuchola’s past.

From the 14th to the 18th century, a castle stood on the site of today’s Town Hall. Remains of its walls can be found in the cellars of the municipal building. Another reminder of the town’s historic appearance is the monument to Saint Margaret, Tuchola’s patron saint. It stands in the square at the intersection of Nowodworskiego and Świecka streets.

The Jagiellonian Trail on Foot or by Bike

The Jagiellonian Trail – Two Swords is approximately 9 km long, designed for both walking and cycling, and starts at a small square on Szkolna Street. Forests surround Tuchola, while the Brda River and the surrounding lakes shape the area around the town. They are considered suitable for recreation and various forms of tourism.
