Nature and Trails in Radomsko County

Przedbórz Landscape Park extends across parts of Radomsko, Włoszczowa, Końskie and Kielce counties. In Radomsko County, it includes the municipalities of Przedbórz, Wielgomłyny, Masłowice and Żytno. Protected landscapes here include, above all, natural areas in the valleys of the Pilica and its tributaries, extensive forest and pine forest complexes, and Jurassic and Cretaceous uplands.

A prominent feature of this landscape is Fajna Ryba. At 347 metres above sea level, it is the highest natural elevation in Radomsko County and in Łódź Voivodeship. It is located in the municipality of Przedbórz.

The 39-kilometre Yellow Royal Hunting Trail runs from Przedbórz to Krasocin. Its route passes through Jabłonna, Brzostek, Góra Czerwony Kamień, Góra Fajna Ryba, Góra Kozłowa, Dojo Stara Wieś, Żeleźnica and Oleszno, as well as over the highest elevations of Przedbórz Landscape Park. This makes it possible to follow the route through specific places and uplands.

There is also a longer route on the water: the approximately 25-kilometre kayaking route in the county passes through Maluszyn, Ciemiętniki, Bobrowniki, Krzętów, Biały Brzeg and Przedbórz. For a different kind of active day, the Pilica Valley Trail can be used for hiking, cycling, horse riding and cross-country skiing. The distinction matters when planning: the approximately 25-kilometre kayaking route follows the water, while the Pilica Valley Trail can be used for hiking, cycling, horse riding and cross-country skiing.

You can swim and rent pedal boats or kayaks at supervised bathing areas in Zakrzówek Szlachecki and Przedbórz. These places complement the trails with activities right by the water. When planning your trip, you can therefore choose between longer routes, different ways of getting around, and activities at supervised bathing areas.

Cultural History in Przedbórz

An exhibition at the Folk Museum in Przedbórz features a peasant room furnished in the style of the 19th century. Its furnishings include a chimney, a stove with a bench, a working loom, and antique implements and furniture from the Przedbórz area. Another exhibition recalls crafts that are dying out, including saddlery, shoemaking, timber construction, basketry, sieve-making and pottery.

Przedbórz Town Hall adds an example of neoclassical architecture to this insight into local history: it was built between 1838 and 1840. The museum focuses on rural domestic life and traditional trades, while the town hall offers a glimpse into another chapter of the region’s architectural history.

Regional Dishes

Two dishes are also highlighted as regional specialities: Przedborski kugiel and Radomszczańska zalewajka. They add a culinary connection to Radomsko County’s themes of nature and culture.

This gives you a clear set of themes to consider when planning your trip: trails and landscapes sit alongside the exhibitions and town hall in Przedbórz, while the waterways and regional dishes offer further points of interest.
