The village of Młynowiec is considered one of the smallest villages in the Kłodzko region. Two themes come together here when planning a trip: routes connecting the village with Stronie Śląskie and the Młynówka Valley, and local history linked to mining. Cycling routes, a walking path and a historic road offer different ways to shape your stay around outdoor activity and regional history.

Cycling: routes and estimated times

The western Pętla Gór Bialskich route passes through Młynowiec; it is listed as 25.60 kilometres long, with a cycling time of four hours. A red-marked Pętla Gór Bialskich cycling route also passes through the village and is described as 34.9 kilometres long, with a cycling time of four and a half hours. By comparison, the second route is longer, while its stated travel time is half an hour more. These two figures can help you plan your time; check local conditions before setting off.

Road cycling tours also run along the Młynówka Valley between Stronie Śląskie and Młynowiec. So, in addition to the loops with stated distances, there are tours whose route explicitly follows the valley. The different descriptions can help you choose a ride based on distance, stated travel time or the route between the two villages.

Walking path and historic road

The Albrecht Marien Weg is a walking path. The section between Stronie Śląskie and Młynowiec is a paved road. For planning a walk, both the type of route and the surface of the specified section are noted.

The historic Albrechtstraße, also called Albrecht Weg, connects Stronie Śląskie with Młynowiec. It offers views of the Góry Złote, Krowiarki and the Śnieżnik Massif. These views connect the historic road with specific landscapes: as well as travelling along the route, you can include views of three different mountain ranges in your trip plans.

The village’s mining history

Młynowiec was founded in 1580 and was connected with local mining. A historical account from 2013 suggests that Młynowiec served as a resource base, supplying timber for the galena mine and charcoal needed for ore processing in Bolesławów. The account thus links mining in the village to the materials needed to process ore at another named location. It gives the village’s history a specific connection to timber, charcoal and the galena mine.
