Organy Wielisławskie: Outcrop and Routes
Organy Wielisławskie is a rhyolite outcrop protected as a natural monument. Two route descriptions relate to it in different ways: the yellow-marked Szlak Wygasłych Wulkanów (Extinct Volcanoes Trail) passes the outcrop, while a nature trail begins at Organy Wielisławskie and leads to the summit of Wielisławka. One route passes the natural monument; the other starts there and has the summit as its destination. When choosing between them, you can use this difference in their routes as a guide.
The similar names Wielisławka Trail and Wielisławka refer here to different points of reference: the blue-marked trail runs through Sędziszowa to a point below Organy Wielisławskie; the nature trail leads from there to the summit of Wielisławka. Chapel and Castle Complex
The Chapel of Saint Catherine preserves fragments of a former rubble-stone church. The church was built in the mid-13th century, altered in the 14th century and destroyed during the Hussite invasions. Its history thus comprises several stages: construction, alteration and destruction. Fragments of this former church building are preserved in the chapel.
The castle complex in Sędziszowa includes a residential tower. Its construction in the 15th century is certain; it may date back to the 14th century. For the chapel, the focus is on the sequence of construction, alteration and destruction. For the residential tower, the dating is qualified: its 15th-century date is certain, while an origin in the 14th century remains possible.
