Accommodation in Świdnik
One practical way to plan an active trip in Świdnik is the “Through the Koźmian Estates to the Kozice Manor” hiking route. It runs from Świdnik through Wierzchowiska, Kawęczyn and Bystrzejowice to Kozice Dolne. The route is about 20 km long, with a stated duration of 3–4 hours. This provides a clearly defined itinerary for anyone wishing to include a longer hike in their trip.
Landscape and Nature in Świdnik County
Świdnik County lies on the Lublin Upland and almost entirely within the Świdnik Plateau and the Giełczew Hills. The Giełczew flows through much of the county; its three main tributaries are the Radomirka, Sierotka and Giełczewka. The landscape can be explored on a trip with a variety of focuses: the river scenery and designated protected areas each offer a distinct starting point.
Areas of the Nadwieprzański Landscape Park lie in the north of the Trawniki municipality. This is also where the valuable “Uroczysko Jezioro” floristic nature reserve is located, home to many rare and protected plant and animal species, including the European pond turtle. Visitors particularly interested in nature will find a specific point of interest here when planning their trip. In Rybczewice municipality, the Krzczonowski Landscape Park covers almost half the municipal area because of its particularly valuable natural environment.
Historic Estates and Sacred Architecture
The Gardzienice I palace and park complex dates from the early 17th century. It was expanded and altered, and today is home to the “Gardzienice” Centre for Theatre Practices. Piaski is home to the late Baroque-classical ruins of a Calvinist church, built between 1783 and 1835. In Wierzchowiska, the manor house and park complex includes a brick palace dating from around 1850 and the remains of a park laid out in the 19th century, with a pond.
The churches, too, tell of different periods of construction and furnishings. The church complex in Częstoborowice dates from the late 18th century and stands on a high embankment. It includes a Marian shrine dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul, with Baroque furnishings and an image of Our Lady of Victory. The late Baroque parish church of Saint Stanislaus in Biskupice was built between 1712 and 1727 and retains Baroque and late Baroque furnishings.
The present-day Neo-Gothic church in Mełgiew was built between 1906 and 1910; it contains furnishings from the 18th-century church that preceded it. The manor house and park complex in Stryjno includes a manor house dating from the second half of the 18th century and a park laid out during the same period. In Świdnik, meanwhile, the wooden “Grażyna” villa recalls the years 1914–1915, when it was built. These different buildings offer visitors interested in culture several specific themes, from sacred architecture to manor houses and park complexes.

The hiking route from Świdnik and the bicycle routes are different ways to explore the region; when choosing, you can consider whether you would rather hike or cycle.
For air travel, the international Port Lotniczy Lublin airport is relevant: it has been operating in Świdnik since 2012.
