Borki: Hiking Trails Through a Gorge and Fir Forest

Several hiking routes lead from or through Borki in the direction of Szur. The gorge, coniferous forest, and a wooden wayside chapel characterize the landscape and provide specific landmarks for finding your way locally. Hiking Trails from Borki to Szur

The PTTK hiking route LU-5610 y is 3.9 km long and runs from Podklasztor through Borki to Szur. Another route, a black Nordic walking trail, connects Krasnobród with Szur via Borki. It is 13.3 km long and takes about four hours.

A yellow-marked hiking trail also runs through Borki to Szur. The route, about 4 km long, passes the chapel and goes through the gorge in Borki. At 13.3 km, the black Nordic walking route is described as considerably longer than this yellow hiking trail; an approximate walking time is also given for the black route.

For the hiking route through Borki to Szur, you can retrace your steps or take the green hiking trail to Krasnobród. The return route from Szur to Krasnobród via the green trail is 5.5 km long and takes about two hours. This lets you plan the route to Szur and the return via Krasnobród separately.

Gorge, Forest, and Wayside Chapel

The hiking trail from Borki toward Szur passes through Krasnobrodzki Landscape Park. On the way to Szur, it crosses a hill at an elevation of 277 m and then follows a winding stone path to Szur. The forest also shapes the landscape described here: the trail runs through coniferous forest, where firs predominate.

The gorge between Borki and Szur has a distinctive microclimate; large firs grow there.
