Palace complex, church and local history

The palace and park complex in Mostki is considered an important monument of 19th-century residential architecture. The park also includes a wood on the way to Przełazy. A stone observation tower dating from around 1880 stands there. The palace complex, park and tower offer different perspectives on the town's architectural history, from 19th-century living to a distinctive structure in the park's woodland.

Another architectural attraction is the half-timbered church. It was built around 1832 and received a Neo-Gothic tower around the middle of the 19th century. The approximate dates help distinguish the two building phases: the church dates from around 1832, while the tower was added later. Those interested in regional architecture can therefore consider this church as a distinct part of the townscape alongside the palace and park complex.

The history of the religious community is also part of Mostki's past. In 1657, a group of Arians expelled from Poland settled here and founded a colony that belonged to the religious community in Lubrza. This links the town's history with Lubrza without equating the two places.

Traces of the Oder-Warthe-Bogen fortified front

Remains of the partially preserved Lietzmann fortification group can be seen in Mostki and the nearby area. It is part of the Oder-Warthe-Bogen fortified front. The fortification group near Mostki comprises four armored works, built in the 1930s. Their intended purpose was to defend the road, the railway line and the gap between the tactical canals.

This adds a different perspective to the town's architectural history: the fortification group is about the strategic function of the installations, while the palace and church concern architecture and use. This distinction helps you consider Mostki's different historical themes separately when planning your visit.

Trails to the lake and through the surrounding area

A nature and landscape educational trail leads south from Mostki to Lake Niesłysz. In addition, a 24-kilometer circular route starting in Mostki covers a longer stretch through the surrounding area. It passes through Krzeczkowo and follows the shore of Lake Niesłysz, passing the bays of Zatoka Szary Kamień and Zatoka Borowska, before reaching Borów. From there, it continues along a local road to Ołobok and follows the Ołobok River to Niesulice.

The rest of the circular route follows the lakeshore, passing the bays of Zatoka Wodne Wcięcie and Zatoka Bogenza in the direction of Przełazy. The route also passes Lakes Czarne and Jeziorko (Złoty Potok) and returns to Mostki via a green hiking trail. This makes it possible to identify the tour as a loop that passes several named bodies of water and places; the trail to Niesłysz, by contrast, is a separate route leading south to the lake.

Mostki is also a point on a longer cycling route: an approximately 29-kilometer cycle route runs via Lubrza, Romanówek, Buczyna, Zagaje, Bucze, Mostki and Nowa Wioska, returning to Lubrza. In comparison, the 24-kilometer circular route starting in Mostki is defined by its start and finish in the town; the cycle route is part of a route that begins and ends in Lubrza.
