Lubniewice lies on a narrow strip of land between Lakes Lubiąż and Krajnik and is surrounded by numerous pine forests. If you would like to explore the area on foot, you can choose from several hiking trails of different lengths and routes. A section of the European R-1 cycle route also passes through Lubniewice.

Hiking trails with different routes
The 14 km blue hiking trail around Lake Lubniewsko starts at a trail junction by a lakeside bay and ends in Lubniewice at a historic bookshop. Another blue trail is 21.1 km long: it passes through Lubniewice, through the “Uroczysko-Lubniewsko” landscape complex and along Lake Lubniewsko. The two routes therefore differ both in length and in their described course.
The 8.9 km red hiking trail starts and ends in Lubniewice and loops around Lake Lubiąż. At 10.9 km, the green trail connects Lubniewice with the Janie Nature Reserve and the MASTER equestrian centre. The black hiking trail is 4.8 km long; it runs from “Stary Zamek” in Lubniewice around Lake Krajnik to the municipal office. For planning your trip, each route provides a specific point of reference: some trails start and end in town, while others lead to destinations in the surrounding area.
Cyclists can also include a route in their trip: the European R-1 cycle route passes through Lubniewice, with 9.8 km of the route running within the municipality. This offers a separate way to experience the area on a bike ride; the figure refers to the route within the municipality.
Lakes, bathing areas and nature
There are well-maintained beaches with bathing and mooring areas on Lakes Lubiąż, Krajnik and Lubniewsko. The lakes offer opportunities for sailing, swimming, surfing and windsurfing. When choosing your outings, you can weigh up hiking and activities on the water without limiting yourself to just one way of exploring the area.
The “Janie im. Włodzimierza Korsaka” Nature Reserve is nearby. It protects a lake in the process of silting up, with characteristic aquatic and marsh vegetation that provides a habitat for numerous waterbird species. Those interested in wetlands and birdlife will find here a different kind of nature experience from that offered by the bathing areas and hiking trails.
Park Miłości and attractions
On the shore of Lake Lubiąż, Park Miłości im. Dr Michaliny Wisłockiej lies between “Stary Zamek” and “Nowy Zamek”. Visitors can attach padlocks to the restored Mostek Miłości as a symbol of the enduring nature of their feelings. The castle complex, comprising both buildings, is one of Lubniewice’s attractions.
In the town centre, the Church of the Holy Cross stands on the west side of the market square. The von Waldow family built it in the second half of the 14th century. For a stay that lets you learn about the town’s history as well as its trails and lakes, the church adds a specific historical point of interest to the other attractions. Folkowe Lubniewice also takes place annually in Park Miłości.
