Slawa: Beach, WakePark and Culture

Slawa (Polish: Sława) brings together several clearly distinct travel interests: beaches and water activities, active recreation, and historic architecture. The Rechenberg Palace stands on the shore of Jezioro Sławskie, surrounded by a landscape park. This gives you a practical choice when planning your stay: beach time, wakeboarding, getting active in the park, distinctive buildings, and a recurring cultural program. Those focused on the water will find different options in Slawa than visitors whose stay centers on architecture or activity.

Beaches and water activities

Plaża Miejska is a supervised beach on Jezioro Sławskie, with a water park featuring inflatable obstacles. This combines swimming with an additional water attraction. Another beach area in Slawa covers 7,000 square meters of sand and recreational space. This figure gives the beach a clear sense of scale, while the water park adds an activity to Plaża Miejska.

Wakeboarding and active recreation

Those looking for a different kind of water activity will find a wakeboard cable system more than 170 meters long at WakePark Sława. The facility also has obstacles for sporting maneuvers. The focus here is on wakeboarding and movement around the obstacles, rather than on the beach. This comparison helps you factor the different activities into your plans without treating them as the same experience.

Park Linowy Bonobo has four elevated courses with walkways, bridges, tunnels, and zip lines. Instructors supervise the courses. Since the course configuration may change, it is advisable to check the latest information about what is available before your visit. The range of obstacles gives the climbing park its own character; instructor supervision is also one of its described features.

The recreational area on Ogrodowa Street combines a roller-skating rink with a traffic education park. Covered seating areas and bicycle racks are also provided. Recreation and traffic education come together here in one leisure facility. The yellow and green hiking trails also cross in Sławski Park. Buildings and local history

The Church of the Divine Mercy was built between 1834 and 1836 as a Protestant church, based on a design by Karl Friedrich Schinkel. Its construction dates and attribution to Schinkel make it a clearly datable historic site in Slawa. On the New Market stands the Witosława Fountain, featuring a seated figure of Witosława on a granite stone. The contrast between Schinkel’s church and the figure on the granite stone offers two specific perspectives on the town’s architectural and design history.

Cultural events and a regional waterway

Dni Sławy takes place every year on the first weekend of August and includes numerous cultural events as well as sailing regattas. If you would like to plan your stay around the festival, check that year’s program before traveling. This recurring event brings cultural activities and regattas together; both shape the character of the weekend.

In the destination’s surrounding area, Jezioro Sławskie and the Obrzyca mark the beginning of the approximately 200-kilometer Lubuski Szlak Wodny. The lake can therefore be seen not only in connection with the beach, but also as part of a longer regional waterway.
