Nieporęt: Dzika Plaża, Cycling Routes and a Baroque Church

Nieporęt offers several reasons to stay: relaxation and outdoor activities are the main attractions along the shore, alongside several marked cycling routes and a distinctive cultural landmark. Dzika Plaża on Lake Zegrze

Dzika Plaża in Nieporęt lies on the southern shore of Lake Zegrze and is a place for swimming and relaxation. The grounds include walking paths, green spaces, a children's playground, an outdoor fitness area and a wooden pier. The pier is 30 metres long and 6 metres wide.

The blue-marked 27-kilometre circular route around the lake starts and ends at Dzika Plaża, making it possible to combine the swimming and relaxation spot with a specific ride.

Marked cycling routes with different layouts

For a circular route, the blue-marked route around Lake Zegrze starts and ends at Dzika Plaża; it is 27 kilometres long. Another option is the yellow-marked Szlak Nieporęcki: 42.4 kilometres, starting and ending in Nieporęt. These details make clear the difference between a loop around the lake and a longer route that starts and ends in the town.

The also blue-marked Trasa Liwecka is 8.7 kilometres long. It runs from Nieporęt via Białobrzegi and Rynia to the bridge over the Rządza near Siwek. Its length and stated endpoint distinguish it from the two routes that start and end in Nieporęt and at Dzika Plaża, respectively. Take current route conditions into account when planning; for the loop around the lake, you should also check whether the ferry is currently operating.

Baroque architecture and history

The Church of the Immaculate Conception in Nieporęt was built in the Baroque style on a Latin-cross plan. Its origins are associated with King Jan Kazimierz II Waza, who founded the church as a votive offering for the victory over the Swedes. The building thus brings together a distinctive floor plan and a specific historical act of patronage.

One detail of the interior is also known: the main altar contains an image of Our Lady of Częstochowa. The architecture, the reason for the church's foundation and the altarpiece offer different points of interest for a visit if, alongside the lake and cycling routes, you are also interested in local history. The church adds a cultural landmark to the attractions by the water.

A seasonal contrast in the area

In winter, snowkiting and ice sailing can be practised on the frozen surface of Lake Zegrze. These activities relate to the lake in the surrounding area, not specifically to Dzika Plaża. Whether they are possible depends on the weather and ice conditions. This winter connection to the lake is therefore quite different from the bathing season and cycling routes.
