Chojnów: Nature Trail, Forest and Memorials
Accommodation in Chojnów
Chojnów is of interest to travellers who would like to combine nature and culture during their stay. The black-marked Chojnowski szlak zabytków przyrody, a scenic hiking trail, passes through the area. In winter, the route can also be used for cross-country skiing. This means you can experience the trail on foot or, as a seasonal option, on cross-country skis. It offers a practical combination of outdoor exercise and a connection with nature when choosing a destination.
Forest, nature watching and cross-country skiing
Larger sections of the trail pass through pine forest, with old trees protected as natural monuments. There are also opportunities to observe birds and plants. The combination of forest, protected old trees and nature watching makes the trail especially appealing to travellers who want to look out for plants and birds while hiking. In winter, it can also be used for cross-country skiing, adding another seasonal activity to the hiking trail.
Memorials along the trail
Several memorials to the victims of the Second World War are located along the Chojnowski szlak zabytków przyrody. The route therefore combines landscape and nature watching with a historical theme. Visitors who would also like to reflect on the memory of the Second World War during an outing will find this aspect directly along the trail. Together with the forest, protected trees and opportunities to observe birds and plants, this makes for a varied nature and culture trail through Chojnów.
Hiking trails in the wider Piaseczyński destination
In the wider Piaseczyński destination, the Chojnowski Landscape Park has seven marked hiking trails, as well as a network of educational trails for walkers and cyclists. The park’s eleven nature reserves may only be visited using existing paths and marked hiking trails. This rule is important to bear in mind when planning outings within the protected areas.
