Piaseczyński offers a wide variety of destinations: marked trails lead through the Chojnów Forests and nature reserves, while Czersk is associated with a Gothic castle and Piaseczno with a history of Neoclassical architecture. Konstancin-Jeziorna adds a spa park and graduation tower. The routes described range from 10 to 30 kilometres and pass through distinctive landscapes and places.

Trails and Nature Watching

At the shorter end is the 10-kilometre Chojnowski szlak zabytków przyrody (Chojnów Nature Monuments Trail). It passes through the Chojnów, Pilawski Grąd and Uroczysko Stephana nature reserves. The yellow-and-green-marked trail from Konstancin-Jeziorna to Góra Kalwaria and Czersk is 24.5 kilometres long. It starts at the corner of Piłsudskiego and Sienkiewicza streets in Konstancin-Jeziorna and passes through the Obory Nature Reserve, Słomczyn, Cieciszew and Dębówka.

The 28-kilometre, yellow-marked Szlak Południkowy (Meridian Trail) runs from Piaseczno railway station through the Chojnów Forests to Prażmów. Its route passes through Zalesie Dolne, Górki Szymona, Zimne Doły, Zalesie Górne, the Łoś Nature Reserve and Nowy Prażmów. At 30 kilometres, the Szlak rezerwatów przyrody (Nature Reserves Trail) is a little longer. It includes Zalesie Górne, Zimne Doły, the Uroczysko Stephana, Chojnów, Obory, Skarpa Oborska, Olszyna Łyczyńska and Łęgi Oborskie nature reserves, as well as Konstancin-Jeziorna; from there, it continues to Ursynów.

The Chojnów Landscape Park has seven marked hiking trails and a network of educational paths for walkers and cyclists. The park’s eleven nature reserves may be visited only via existing paths and marked hiking trails. At the Żabieniec pond complex, you can spot birds including goosanders, black-necked grebes, red-necked grebes, little grebes, Eurasian teals, bearded reedlings, penduline tits and black storks.

The Zimne Doły recreation complex has fire pits, covered shelters, a children’s playground and a forest car park. Alongside the marked routes, it offers practical facilities for taking a break in the forest.

Castle, Lake and Local History

The medieval Gothic castle in Czersk was built by Duke Janusz the Elder around the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries on the site of an earlier fortification. At the foot of the castle on its eastern side lies Lake Czerskie, a former oxbow of the Vistula. The lake is entirely protected as a natural monument: in Czersk, castle history meets a landscape shaped by the river’s former course.

In Piaseczno, the town hall also tells the story of the area. Built in 1823 in the Neoclassical style, it now houses the offices of the Muzeum Piaseczna. Another connection to literary history can be found in Zalesie Dolne, now part of Piaseczno: the wooden summer house of the Zawadzki family stands there. It is associated with the memoirs of Tadeusz Zawadzki, “Zośka,” which were used in “Kamienie na szaniec.”

Spa Park and Graduation Tower

Park Zdrojowy lies in the centre of Konstancin-Jeziorna’s spa district. Its main avenue connects Piłsudskiego Street with the brine graduation tower. The Konstancin graduation tower opened on 21 July 1978; evaporation of the brine creates a microclimate in its surroundings similar to that of the seaside.

Park Zdrojowy has three playgrounds for children and young people, a volleyball court and outdoor fitness equipment. When choosing where to stay, you can take your preferred focus into account: nature reserves and birdwatching, the castle and local history, or the spa park and graduation tower.
