Discover Pruszkowski

In the centre of Pruszków lies Potulickich Park, covering 23.25 hectares. Its water system covers about 8.5 hectares: four ponds, pools, connecting canals and an oxbow of the Utrata. Information boards provide details about the wildlife and plant life of this historic park. Water landscapes and parkland come together here—two features that can also be found elsewhere in Pruszkowski.

Parks and pond landscapes

In Młochów, the park of the palace complex covers about 17 hectares. Three ponds account for 2.8 hectares and are connected to the Utrata river system. The complex also includes a palace, two outbuildings arranged symmetrically on either side of the courtyard, and an orangery. The English-style landscape park dates from the late 19th century. Those interested in parks can take in both the design of the complex and its ponds.

Pęcice Palace Park covers 24 hectares and was designed by garden architect Jan Chrystian Schuch. It borders a 50-hectare pond area where many species of waterbirds nest. The Stawy Raszyńskie nature reserve offers a different perspective on birds and wetlands: it protects breeding habitats for many rare bird species, as well as feeding and resting grounds for migratory birds. Park design and protected habitats thus offer different ways to enjoy a stay with an interest in landscape and nature.

Nature trails and paths

The nature trail along the Utrata is suitable for pedestrians and cyclists. Its features and stops include interactive educational stations, bird nesting boxes, insect hotels and a dendrophone. There is also a free-to-use observation telescope and wooden footbridges over ponds. The combination of information, nature observation and activity appeals to travellers looking for something to do on foot or by bicycle.

In Nadarzyn municipality, the local cultural and historical walking trail is centred on the 19th-century park in Młochów. From there, one route is suggested in the direction of the Młochowskie Forests and another to places of interest in the municipality. The fact that these are suggestions is important for planning: they are possible routes, not one fixed, combined route. Młochowski Grąd nature reserve has forest paths and a walking trail. Młochowski Łęg nature reserve in the Młochów Forest District covers 12.04 hectares; most of it consists of riparian forest communities in the Utrata Valley.

Museums, folklore and architecture

The permanent exhibition “Przedświt – Mazowieckie Centre of Metallurgy at the Turn of the Eras” combines original artefacts with film and graphic reconstructions, copies of artefacts and multimedia. Games and puzzles for children complement the exhibition. Different ways of presenting the subject are brought together, from historical objects to interactive elements.

In its main exhibition, Muzeum Dulag 121 uses accounts by former prisoners and helpers, as well as historical photographs, letters, documents and authentic objects. The museum also regularly hosts history exhibitions, concerts, lectures, film screenings, commemorative evenings and meetings with historians, writers and artists. Visitors looking to include different kinds of cultural events in their plans will find a wide-ranging programme alongside the exhibition.

Centrum Folkloru Polskiego “Karolin” invites visitors on a colourful, music-filled journey through the folklore associated with the “Mazowsze” ensemble. Karolin is located in Otrębusy. The journey by WKD from Warszawa Śródmieście WKD station to Otrębusy WKD station takes 36 minutes. This time refers to the journey between the two stations.

Architectural history is another subject to explore: the palace at 5 Dworska Street in Brwinów was built in 1936 for the Wierusz-Kowalski family in a style influenced by Classicism.
