History

Brodnica Górna is an old knightly settlement that later became a noble settlement. For several centuries, the town was owned by the Kashubian families of the Lniskis and Ustarbowskis.

Culture

The Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Brodnica Górna was separated from the parish of Chmielno in 1905. Construction of the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus began on June 30, 1932, based on a design by engineer P. Cybichowski. The church was consecrated on November 7, 1933.

The annual Kashubian festival Truskawkobranie takes place at the end of June or the beginning of July at the foot of the nearby Złota Góra hill.

Water

The Centre for Water Sports and Regional Development has facilities for water sports and a water sports equipment rental service that operates from May to October. Located on Złota Góra in Brodnica Górna, the centre lies along the “Radunia Circle” route, which covers the area of Lake Brodno Wielkie.

At the centre, visitors can sample specialities from “Gospodynie Brodnickie”. These are regional products made by the local population.

The Złota Góra viewpoint in Brodnica Górna is easily accessible via a paved road. From there, you can look out over Lake Brodno Wielkie; Lake Ostrzyckie is also visible.
