Golubie offers several distinct reasons to visit on a trip to Poland: the Botanical Garden focuses on plant life, the Nasze Młynarstwo Museum is dedicated to the milling trade, and Kółko Raduńskie is a canoe route that passes through the town. The Red Kashubian Hiking Trail also runs as far as Lake Dąbrowskie. When choosing accommodation in Golubie, it is therefore helpful to first decide whether you are more interested in botanical diversity, cultural history, water sports or hiking.

Botanical diversity in the Kashubian Landscape Park

The Botanical Garden in Gołubie covers 2.12 hectares and is located within the Kashubian Landscape Park. It currently cultivates 4,000 taxa of vascular plants from various regions of the world. Around 150 protected plant species also grow in the garden. The diversity of cultivated taxa and the protected plant species make the garden a clear botanical highlight. If you are interested in plants, you can take this into account when planning your trip, rather than basing your choice of destination solely on water activities.

The milling trade and hands-on interpretation

The Nasze Młynarstwo Museum is housed in an old, still-operating mill in Gołubie. The history of the milling trade, traditions, customs and cultural heritage are presented through live demonstrations, workshops and the operation of historic machinery. The still-operating mill is closely connected to the subject of the milling trade, while demonstrations and the operation of the machinery bring it to life. The museum also offers bread-making workshops for organised groups. This group requirement is relevant to your plans if you would like bread-making to be part of your trip: the activity is intended for organised groups.

Canoe tour and hiking trail

Kółko Raduńskie comprises more than 25 interconnected bodies of water, almost all of which are suitable for water sports and swimming. The canoe route passes through Golubie, is about 40 km long and takes approximately 2 days to paddle. This makes it a multi-day activity. If you would like to include a canoe trip in your itinerary, you can factor the approximate two-day duration into your plans.

Another option for getting active is the Red Kashubian Hiking Trail, which passes through Golubie and continues to Lake Dąbrowskie. Depending on your interests, you can choose between a canoe tour and a hike, without treating them as the same route. The canoe tour has an approximate length and duration; the hiking trail is described by its route to the lake.

Hiking is also among the activities described, thanks to the Red Kashubian Hiking Trail. First consider which of these interests is most important for your trip; then you can decide whether Golubie suits your planned stay.
