Reskowo can be considered as a travel destination through several specific themes: the village’s historical connections, Cycle Route 6, and excursions in the nearby area and wider region. The scale differs: the cycle route includes Reskowo in its itinerary, while a Nordic walking route in the nearby area leads to the lakeshore. The Łeba kayak route belongs to the wider regional picture, and whether it is navigable depends on water levels. When considering Reskowo as a destination, you can distinguish local points of interest from activities further afield.

Historical Connections in Reskowo

A surviving document records that the Pomeranian dukes granted Reskowo, together with its lake, to the church in Chmielno as an endowment. Another historical connection leads to Żukowo: in the second half of the 16th century, Reskowo belonged to the Norbertine convent there. Chmielno and Żukowo thus represent two different ecclesiastical contexts that played a role in the village’s history. The document connects Reskowo and its lake with an endowment to the church; the reference to Żukowo states that the village belonged to the convent.

A much earlier period is represented by a flat burial ground from the Early Iron Age, registered in Reskowo as archaeological site C-173. Alongside the ecclesiastical connections, this also provides an archaeological trace of an earlier era. The historical themes therefore range from the Early Iron Age to the ecclesiastical connections recorded in the village’s history.

Cycle Route 6 and Trails in the Nearby Area

Cycle Route 6 offers a specific cycling option: the circular route passes through Chmielno, Kożyczkowo, Cieszenie, Reskowo, Chmielno, Lampa, Zgorzałe and Stężyca. It is 29.5 km long within the Kashubian Landscape Park. The itinerary places Reskowo on a loop through several villages, while the distance gives you a sense of the tour’s scale. Check the current signage before setting off.

In the wider region, viewpoints on Lake Raduńskie Górne and Lake Raduńskie Dolne are also connected with Cycle Route 6. Closer to Reskowo, the Chmielno–Reskowo Nordic walking route runs through fields and forests, then along the lakeshore, with views of Jezioro Raduńskie Dolne. The cycle route is described in terms of its itinerary and length, while the walking route is described in terms of its landscapes.

Other Tours in the Wider Region

The Łeba kayak route offers a different kind of trip planning. It is 120 km long in total, of which 27.2 km lie within the Kashubian Landscape Park. The route is considered quite difficult and strenuous, and its upper section has the character of a mountain stream. This assessment applies to the regional kayak route and clearly distinguishes it from the circular Cycle Route 6.

Water levels are important for the kayak route: when water levels are higher, the Łeba is navigable from Lake Długie. At medium water levels, Lake Sianowskie is the furthest upstream starting point. Check current water levels before setting out so you can include the appropriate starting point in your plans.

Travelling by Public Transport

The municipal timetable lists route 220501 from Borzestowo via Miechucino to Reskowo. If you plan to use this route for your trip, check the current timetable for your travel date. This lets you coordinate your journey with your planned activities without conflating the regional tours with the village itself.
