History

The mill building in Borowy Młyn that has survived to this day was built at the end of the 19th century. The Borowy Młyn No. 3 owner's house, which belonged to the former mill complex, was also built at the end of the 19th century.

In the 19th century, a lock and a pond were built in Borowy Młyn. The former Jesuiterhof estate was granted to the Jesuits in the 17th century by Jan Krasiński, the starost of Sztum.

An obelisk in Borowy Młyn commemorates a former smithy and inn that formed the starting point of the settlement, which no longer exists today, in the 17th or 18th century. During Stefan Batory's wars with Moscow, a foundry for cannonballs is said to have been located in Borowy Młyn from 1579 to 1581.

Cycling and Hiking Trails

The 44-kilometre Green Cycling Trail of the Ryjewo municipality passes through Borowy Młyn. It runs along paved roads as well as forest and field paths.

Borowy Młyn is located at kilometre 308.5 of the 390-kilometre red hiking trail “Ku Gwiazdom – Śladami Mikołaja Kopernika”. A tour described in Kwidzyn County reaches Borowy Młyn at kilometre 19.50 and then continues along a forest road.
