Łężyce: Nature, Horse Riding and History
Accommodation in Łężyce
Łężyce combines a connection with nature, a specific horse-riding offer and a manor house with a history. The village is located within the buffer zone of Trójmiejski Park Krajobrazowy. The wider destination of Neustadt (Wejherowo) is also worth considering when planning your trip: museums, historic sites and cultural themes there add to the picture of the region.

Nature and Storks in Łężyce
In July 2022, a large, old white stork nest stood on a pole disconnected from the power grid on the eastern edge of Łężyce, near Obwodowa Street. If you want to visit specifically to observe the nest, check in advance whether it is still there.
Another observation also gives an impression of the storks in the area: during one breeding season, white storks built eleven new nests in Łężyce. During an inspection in July, one and two young birds were found in two of these nests, respectively.
Rides for Experienced Riders
The Ośrodek Jeździecki “Pomerania” offers rides along one of the forest paths. Riders with prior riding experience can take part; an instructor supervises the ride. The riding stable borders Trójmiejski Park Krajobrazowy. The adjoining park has several paths specifically designated for horses. This means the offer is clearly aimed at experienced riders and can be distinguished from the horse trails in the park.
A Manor House with a Past
The manor house in Łężyce dates from the 19th century. It was formerly the estate of the Pobłocki and Roszczynialski families. This historical connection gives the area another point of interest alongside nature and horse riding.
Culture in the Wider Destination of Neustadt
In Neustadt (Wejherowo), Kalwaria Wejherowska offers an insight into the region’s history. It was the fourth Calvary complex built during the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. On 9 June 1649, Bishop Mikołaj Albert Gniewosz of Aleksandrów approved its construction; work on the chapels then began. This chronology brings the historical background of the pilgrimage site to life.
Museums also cover a range of subjects. Founded in 1968, Muzeum Piśmiennictwa i Muzyki Kaszubsko-Pomorskiej preserves regional artefacts. It is also a centre of Kashubian culture, particularly the Kashubian language. Książnica prof. Gerarda Labudy has a permanent exhibition on the history of the Kashubians. Models of the city and Kalwaria Wejherowska are displayed in the historic town hall.
The permanent exhibition at Muzeum Piaśnickie occupies two floors. Through the example of the Piaśnica crime, it commemorates the victims of the Pomeranian crimes; relics of the Piaśnica crime are located in the basement. The cultural offering therefore ranges from language and regional artefacts to remembrance of history.
Walks and Discoveries in Neustadt
Szlak Nut Kaszubskich consists of fifteen pedestals bearing fragments of a traditional counting rhyme. They are located in different parts of the city and form a route that passes the main sights. If you want to visit individual stops, check in advance whether they are still there. Miejski Park in Neustadt offers space for walking and relaxation, as well as a playground and an outdoor fitness area. If the playground or fitness area is important to your plans, check before visiting whether both are currently available.
This creates a clear thematic distinction when choosing a destination: Łężyce offers a connection to the park’s buffer zone and horse riding for people with prior experience; Neustadt adds museums, city history and cultural sites to the trip. Which of these perspectives matters most to you may influence your search for suitable accommodation in Łężyce.
