River, Village Districts and Landscape

The Soła flows through Cisiec, dividing the village into Mały Cisiec and Duży Cisiec. Mały Cisiec is home to the private Jan Talik Museum “Ocalenie”, which is worth a visit for its unusual character. The names of the two districts give you a geographical reference for the different places to visit. Another landmark in the landscape is Palenica: the summit is 687 metres above sea level and is one of the peaks surrounding Cisiec. By Bike or on Foot

Velo Soła is an approximately 40-kilometre cycling route from Rajcza to Żywiec. It passes through Cisiec at kilometre 13. The entire route follows paved paths. This context is useful for planning: the approximate distance refers to the route between the two towns, while Cisiec marks a section along the way.

The Trakt Cesarski also passes through Cisiec. A four-kilometre walking route has been created along part of it. This gives you two distinct points of reference for an active outing: the longer cycling route, which passes through Cisiec, and a stretch of a specified length described specifically as a walking route. Church History in Cisiec

The Church of Saint Maximilian Kolbe is known as the “Church of the Miracle of One Day”. It was built on 5 and 6 November 1972, despite the bans imposed by the party authorities at the time. It was finally legalised in 1979. These brief, precisely stated dates give the building a distinctive historical context and make the church a specific cultural highlight during your time in Cisiec.

The church is also a stop on the Szlak Papieski. This connects its local significance with a named themed trail, without requiring you to follow a particular itinerary.
