Jaworze brings nature, trails and local history together in tangible ways: the town has a museum of marine and freshwater fauna and flora, as well as the wooded Goruszka, hiking trails starting in Jaworze-Nałęże, and parks and memorial sites. If you are looking for accommodation in Jaworze, these different attractions can help guide your decision: would you rather explore nature and scenery, architecture, or historic memorial sites? The destinations offer different perspectives on the town, rather than focusing on just one kind of excursion.

Nature, museum and trails

The Museum of Marine and Freshwater Fauna and Flora in Jaworze displays, among other things, a sea turtle, sharks including a hammerhead, octopuses, molluscs and sea urchins. The collection brings together a wide variety of animal groups. If you are interested in marine and freshwater fauna, this is a specific place to visit in town; its focus is quite different from Jaworze’s scenery and hiking destinations.

Goruszka is a wooded hill in the Cieszyn Foothills, reaching an elevation of 411 metres. Its forest is home to black pines, introduced in the 19th century by Jaworze’s then owners, the Counts of Saint-Genois d’Anneaucourt. Goruszka is home to the only closed stand of this pine species in the Silesian Beskids. This brings landscape and local history together in a tangible detail: the trees are part of both the hill’s natural character and a historical introduction by its former owners.

Zdrojowy Park also offers a distinct perspective on Jaworze. Following its redevelopment, it now has five wooden walkways and viewing points that offer new perspectives on the park. This adds a different focus to the trails in the surrounding area: here, the viewing points within the park are the main attraction, while the hiking trails lead to named destinations.

The Szlak szklany hiking trail starts in Jaworze-Nałęże and leads to Ranczo Błatnia. Another route description leads from Nałęże to Błatnia. You can reach this starting point by PKS bus or by car. There is a car park behind the renovated church; from there, you can set off on foot for Błatnia. The destination names are therefore Ranczo Błatnia and Błatnia. When planning your hike, check the full name of your intended destination. If you plan to travel by PKS bus, check the timetable before setting off.

Architecture, local history and remembrance

The core of Jaworze’s layout is a castle and park complex dating from the late 18th century. Its arrangement includes a lower manor farm in the north-eastern part and an upper manor farm farther to the north. The complex is relatively symmetrical. If you are interested in historic ensembles, you can take in not only individual buildings but also the spatial relationship between the two manor farms.

The Glorieta, a Baroque feature of the park, also stands on Goruszka. Its round roof is supported by six Classical columns. The description brings together two distinct architectural features: its designation as a Baroque feature and its Classical columns. If you are interested in architectural forms, the roof shape and number of columns are specific details to look out for.

In Jaworze-Nałęże, a reconstructed glassworks stands on the site of a former 19th-century glassworks. The reconstruction thus connects to the site’s earlier use. At the Evangelical cemetery in Jaworze, an information board guides visitors through eleven important memorial points within the cemetery. These stops give your visit a clear thematic focus: the individual memorial sites and their place within the cemetery.

This distinction may help you decide where to stay: Jaworze appeals if you want to choose between nature and wildlife, trails leading to named destinations, and architecture and memorial sites. First, consider which of these interests matters most for your trip to Poland; this will help you focus your search for accommodation in Jaworze on the experiences that interest you most.
