Mountains and Trails

The Czantoria cable car is a detachable cable car with four-seat chairs and a length of 1,640 metres. From its upper station, an easy forest path leads to the summit with an observation tower in about 30 minutes. There are parking facilities as well as bus and train connections near the Czantoria cable car.

The summit of Palenica can also be reached via a blue hiking trail and by the Palenica cable car. From the summit of Palenica, a green hiking trail leads towards Orłowa, Brenna, and Madziówka. Palenica Bike Park currently has four downhill trails with varying levels of difficulty.

Nature

At Leśny Park Niespodzianek, the Sowiarnia, with flight demonstrations by owls specially trained for this purpose, is a main attraction. The Sokolarnia at Leśny Park Niespodzianek is currently home to around 30 birds. The Centre for Nature and Forest Education presents animal exhibitions from North America, Africa, and Europe.

Culture and History

The Muzeum Ustrońskie displays monumental forging machines. It includes a growing open-air museum and is also located at a historically significant site of the former “Klemens” ironworks.

In the centre of Ustroń, Stara Zagroda includes a reconstruction of a house dating from 1768, using authentic fragments such as door frames and ceiling beams. The Stara Zagroda ethnographic museum houses a permanent exhibition of old equipment.

The Protestant church in Ustroń, dedicated to the Apostle James the Elder, was built in 1838. It contains an altar dating from 1883, donated by ironworks workers from Ustroń, Trzyniec, and Frydek. The parish church of St. Clement in Ustroń was consecrated on 23 November 1788.
