Jaworzynka can be explored through a range of interests: at the Trójstyk, the borders of Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia meet; in Trzycatek, pilgrimage and the church are at the heart of religious life. There are also two museums covering different subjects, as well as recurring events. This mix offers practical starting points for planning your trip: you can focus on border geography, religious tradition, regional culture or a particular date, rather than giving equal weight to every aspect.

The Trójstyk: Jaworzynka at the tripoint

The Trójstyk in Jaworzynka-Trzycatek is where the borders of Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia meet. This makes Jaworzynka a destination for travellers interested in border geography and the meeting point of three countries. Its focus differs from that of the museums, which explore historical and cultural subjects through exhibits: at the Trójstyk, the geographical location itself takes centre stage.

Pilgrimage and religious significance

In 2026, the parish church in Jaworzynka-Trzycatek was declared the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Frydek, Queen of Peace (Sanktuarium Matki Bożej Frydeckiej, Królowej Pokoju). Trzycatek became a pilgrimage destination for believers from further afield. For travellers interested in religion, these two aspects complement each other: the designation reflects the significance of the parish church, while the pilgrimage highlights Trzycatek’s importance to pilgrims from beyond the immediate area.

Two museums, different subjects

At the Na Grapie Regional Museum, the wooden house known as “kurlawo chałpa” dates from 1920. Its main room contains a distinctive “kurny piec” (open-hearth stove) as well as other elements of the traditional furnishings of a highlander’s home. The focus is on specific details of domestic life: the house, its main room and the furnishings typical of a traditional highlander’s home. Those interested in historic homes will find a different perspective on the area’s culture here than at the tripoint.

The Świerk Museum takes a different approach. It displays scientific and historical materials about the Norway spruce, as well as exhibits on the history and culture of the Silesian Beskids. Compared with Na Grapie, its subject matter ranges from a single tree species to the history and culture of a region. The museums therefore offer different points of interest: one focuses on the highlander’s home and its furnishings, the other on the spruce and the Silesian Beskids.

Events at the Trójstyk

The raising of the Maypole, “Stawianie Moja”, takes place at the Trójstyk every year on 1 May. Since 2009, the Prayer Meeting of the Three Nations has also been held there on the Saturday after 15 August. The dates represent different forms of local tradition: the Maypole raising falls on a fixed calendar date, while the prayer meeting takes place on a particular Saturday after 15 August. If you would like to plan your trip around either event, bear this difference in mind when choosing your dates and check the specific event dates before booking.
