Dębowiec: Hotels and Accommodation

The granary in Dębowiec is a preserved relic of the former manor buildings and has a rare octagonal shape.

Culture

Until 1910, the granary was used as a water tower and thereafter as a storage building. Access is restricted; the building can be viewed from the outside.

The Evangelical Church of the Redeemer in Dębowiec was expanded in 2000. As a result, the number of seats increased from 170 to 230. A small chapel was built next to the church in 1869; in 1912, a chapel three times larger was built in its place.

The origins of the parish of St. Margaret's Church in Dębowiec date back to the 14th century, around 1335. Construction of the new St. Margaret's Church began in 1854 and lasted two years.

Nature

The brine from Dębowiec and the salt produced from it are used for inhalations, compresses, gargling and baths. Fish farming has been carried out in the Dębowieckie Ponds for centuries.

The landscape around Dębowiec is shaped by the valley of the Knajka stream and a complex of fish ponds. The area around the Dębowieckie Ponds is an attractive place for walks.

Numerous freshwater fish species are bred, among others, at Gospodarstwo Rybackie in Dębowiec.

Dębowiec lies on the border of the Pogórze Cieszyńskie, Wysoczyzna Kończycka and Dolina Górnej Wisły.
