The secular buildings also come with specific dates. The former town hall was built in 1895 and stands in the town centre on ul. Pionierów. At the Old Pharmacy, a foundation stone at Plac Wolności commemorates its establishment in 1859. Townhouses from the first half of the 19th century and from around the turn of the 20th century add to the picture of the town’s former buildings. Together, these examples show how different periods of construction and building types have shaped Biskupiec’s history.
Technical Structures and Views Across the Town
The Old Tile Factory dates from 1865. Its red brickwork and an original German inscription that has survived to this day are distinctive details of this historic industrial building. The neo-Gothic brick water tower, rising above Biskupiec, is on a different scale: built in 1912–1913, it has a capacity of 250 m³ and stands 39 m tall. The factory and water tower thus offer a distinct perspective on the town’s industrial and technical architectural history.
