The Ustnik Nature Reserve is located near Jeziorany. It covers 32.50 hectares and is situated near the buildings of the Ustnik settlement, about five kilometres west of Jeziorany. Established in 1991, it was created to protect breeding and resting grounds for rare and endangered waterbirds and marsh birds. Its natural focus is therefore clearly defined: it centres on habitats used by waterbirds and marsh birds for breeding and resting. Its location is also important for getting your bearings: Ustnik lies west of the town, not in the town centre. Architectural history from different periods

Remains of a Gothic castle dating from the second half of the 14th century and remains of the town walls have been preserved in Jeziorany. The Evangelical Augsburg Church was built in 1886–1887; an Art Nouveau apartment building on Hanki-Sawickiej Street was built in 1909. Together, these dates span from medieval remains to a building from the early 20th century. The examples named therefore do not represent a single period: the castle and town walls point to the town’s older history, while the church and apartment building date from considerably later. For choosing a theme, the chronology offers two distinct focuses: medieval remains on the one hand and later construction dates on the other.
