Dziwnów: Promenade, River and Maritime Discoveries

Promenade, dune ridge and sea views

The western section of the promenade, Promenada Zachodnia, runs along the ridge of a dune and opened in late 2018. The dune ridge gives this part of the promenade a distinctive topographical setting. From the breakwaters, you can see the sea, the coast and a stretch of the Dziwna towards the bridge. The breakwaters are accessible to tourists all year round. This distinguishes two different highlights: the promenade offers a walkway within the town, while the breakwaters offer views of the water and coast.

The Dziwna, the drawbridge and Martwa Dziwna

Dziwnów lies on both sides of the Dziwna. The drawbridge is also important for navigation: when raised, it allows vessels up to 10 metres high and 8 metres wide to pass.

Another connection to the area’s waters is Lake Martwa Dziwna in Dziwnów. It is included in the Natura 2000 conservation programme. Alongside the sea views and river history, the protected status of a specific lake adds another distinct dimension.

Fishing history and experiments at the Morskie Centrum Nauki

The exhibition at the Morskie Centrum Nauki in Dziwnów explores the history of Dziwnów’s fishermen. Visitors can also carry out experiments there to investigate processes in the sea. The centre therefore offers two ways to explore maritime themes: learning about local fishing history and hands-on exploration of marine phenomena. Lighthouses at the Nadmorski Park Miniatur

The Nadmorski Park Miniatur in Dziwnów displays lighthouses from the Polish coast in one place. You can visit the park independently or on a guided tour. The options are clear: explore the exhibition at your own pace or choose a guided tour. Its theme differs from the fishing stories and marine experiments at the Morskie Centrum Nauki; here, the focus is on lighthouses from the Polish coast.

Beaches and seasonal excursion boats

Across the municipality, supervised sea bathing with qualified lifeguards is available on the beaches in Dziwnów, Dziwnówek, Łukęcin and Międzywodzie. Beach rental facilities offer equipment there. In the municipality, excursion boats depart from Przystań Statków Wycieczkowych each year from spring until the end of the summer season, travelling to Kamień Pomorski and out to sea.
