Grodzisko and former cemetery
The conical Grodzisko is situated on a hill north of the road from Bogucino to Pustary. It dates from the 12th to 14th centuries, measures 30 to 33 metres in diameter and is about four metres high. For travellers interested in older traces of the area as well as its landscape, the Grodzisko is a distinct point of interest.
The former Protestant cemetery in Bogucino offers a different historical perspective. It is located on a regular, trapezoid-shaped plot of 0.28 hectares.
Landscapes in the wider Kołobrzeg destination
In the wider Kołobrzeg (Kolberg) destination, Dźwirzyno Beach presents a different landscape: the broad, sandy coastline is bordered by dunes and a pine forest, making it suitable for walks and relaxing in the shade. During the bathing season, there are lifeguarded sections of beach, food stalls, changing rooms and toilets; some access points are adapted for pushchairs and people with reduced mobility. If these seasonal facilities are important for your plans, check the information before your visit.
The Kołobrzeg municipality also includes coastal dunes, peat bogs, pine forests, meadows, salt marshes and river valleys. More than 700 species of vascular plants have been recorded there, including many protected species. Sphagnum mosses and marsh vegetation grow in the raised bogs around Dźwirzyno and Grzybowo; carnivorous plants are also found there. This makes it possible to compare different natural landscapes: Bogucino’s Parsęta Valley, moraine hills and wooded spring areas on the one hand, and coastal and wetland landscapes in the wider Kołobrzeg destination on the other.
